KNOWN AS THE ‘JEWEL OF THE PHILIPPINES’, unkabogable comedian and actor Vice Ganda continues to shape the nation ’s entertainment and film industry. “Blockbuster hits, high-rating television shows, advertisements, and sold-out concerts here and abroad are proof of the influence Vice holds in the industry,” said the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), honouring his contribution to comedy recently.

Vice’s FDCP award joins such tributes as two Asian Academy Creative Awards, a FAMAS Award, a Guinness World Record and, of course, being voted for the seventh consecutive year by Filipinos as the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Entertainment & Variety Presenter.

Beyond the glitter and glam of the red carpet, however, the It’s Showtime and Everybody Sing host urges his huge social media following of 50 million people to follow in his footsteps by giving back and doing good. His philanthropic endeavors have ranged from helping typhoon Odette-affected families to paying for medicine for random strangers. Causes particularly close to his heart include education, disaster relief and LGBTQ+ rights advocacy.
