Noli De Castro

VETERAN BROADCASTER AND FORMER VICE PRESIDENT Manuel Leuterio de Castro Jr, popularly known as Noli de Castro or ‘Kabayan’ Noli de Castro, brings a breadth of experience to the airwaves. Not afraid to take on the most important issues of the day, De Castro is the anchor of the long-running radio programs Kabayan and TeleRadyo Serbisyo Balita, and the TV program TV Patrol.

After serving as vice-president from 2004 to 2010, De Castro returned to his “first and one true love” – broadcasting. He anchored several shows on DZMM before making his eventual return to TV Patrol as one of its main anchors.

In October 2022, De Castro resigned from his TV Patrol duties to run for the Senate. But soon after filing his senatorial candidacy, he withdrew his plan to seek a Senate seat.

At the time, De Castro said he had a change of heart and saw that he would better serve the people as a newsman. He later resumed his public service programs TeleRadyo Serbisyo Balita and Kabayan.

De Castro’s public service broadcasting has received international acclaim, with KBYN: Kaagapay ng Bayan receiving a Bronze Award for Best Public Affairs Program in the prestigious New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.

Reader’s Digest congratulates Noli de Castro on being voted Most Trusted Radio Presenter for 2024.
