HARNESSING CHILDREN’S DIGITAL TALENTS FOR A DIGITALLY FLUENT GENERATION

KEMAS is committed to cultivating digital fluency among young learners in line with the Digital Education Policy, launched by the Ministry of Education Malaysia on 28 November 2023. Through the KEMAS ECE Digital Transformation Plan 2023-2032, introduced on 14 September 2024, KEMAS is driving a transformative shift in early childhood education, focusing on:

1. Digital Competency of ECE Personnel

2. Children’s Digital Talents

3. Infrastructure and Infostructure

4. Digital Learning Content

5. Strategic Partnership

6. ECE Digital Governance

In 2024, KEMAS fostered digital literacy through the STREAM Digital Showcase at National KEMAS POTENSI Day where young learners explored robotics, augmented reality (AR), the metaverse and coding, igniting their interest in future technologies.

A key highlight of the event was the STREAM International Robotic Competition (SIRC), inspiring children as young as six to explore robotics. The event drew 178 participants from Malaysia and Indonesia, featuring the Mini Sumobot Autonomous competition, where young learners competed alongside adults from various agencies and robotics associations. This marked KEMAS’s first international robotics event, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to advancing digital education in early childhood learning.

These pioneering programs are crafted to immerse young minds in dynamic, technology-driven learning experiences that nurture their holistic development, equipping them with essential skills to thrive in the modern educational landscape.
