KEMAS & YAYASAN PAHANG SEAL MOA WITH A TARGET TO EMPOWER CHILDREN OF LITTLE HUFFAZ
The Department of Community Development (KEMAS) and the Pahang Foundation signed a Memorandum of Agreement to implement the KEMAS Pre-Tahfiz Preschool Program in a ceremony held on 7 November 2023 at the KEMAS Community Activity Center, Kampung Sri Batu, Kuala Lumpur.
His Majesty Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah graciously consented to witness this historic event.
The KEMAS Pre-Tahfiz Preschool Program aims to further strengthen the Islamic Education Appreciation Module (PPI) which has been implemented since 2017. It is part of the reinforcement of Quranic education in producing young Huffaz, who master the memorization of the Quran with proper recitation etiquette (Qiraat) and contemplation (Taddabur) from as early as 5 to 6 years of age.
This program is also a game changer by focusing on the 7M concept, which includes Reciting, Memorizing, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Analyzing, and Humanity.
Through this Memorandum of Agreement, KEMAS will utilize the Memorization Module (Modul Hafazan) previously used by the Pahang State Tahfiz Kindergarten that is managed by the Pahang Foundation. The Pahang Foundation will provide advisory services, including competency training to the KEMAS Preschool teachers through the use of existing modules.
By the end of the 2023 academic session, it was expected that 1,500 children would have mastered the memorization of the Quran in the juzu’ amma chapters.
KEMAS targets to have approximately 100,000 children trained as young Huffaz by the end of 2026.
