As one of the first private hospitals to provide cancer care facilities in Malaysia, Pantai Hospital has been fighting cancer since 1981. Equipped with the latest technologies, its Cancer Centre provides multifaceted cancer treatment and therapies, spearheaded by a team of six clinical oncologists and two medical oncologists with support from experienced haematologists, and various specialist surgeons. A team of oncology nurses, medical physicists and radiographer therapists provide patients with the supportive and holistic healthcare they need. Pantai Hopital’s service of care extends from screening and detection, to treatment and care, and all the way to post-treatment support. Its cancer initiative #FightAgainstCancerTogether reflects its vision to raise cancer awareness and education to provide a holistic service of cancer care that extends above and beyond standard expectations.

Since 2008, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur has held a weekly Multidisciplinary Tumour Board where medical professionals across a range of specialisations meet to discuss cancer cases. The meeting aims to determine the best possible treatment, care plan and clinical outcomes for individual patients. This kind of initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment in providing a service that prioritises and genuinely values patient wellbeing and treatment. Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur established Research & Innovation Department, led by Senior Research Scientist and supported by a team of experienced study coordinators and research assistants. It is the vision of the team to lead high quality researches and innovative initiatives for development of clinical services in PHKL.

There are currently 14 oncology clinical trials and 5 oncology studies ongoing, with the aim to determine the clinical outcomes of cancer patients treated in PHKL. Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur maintains a variety of such initiatives to improve its clinical services.
